A day in the Jungle
So today I took a bumboat to Pulau Ubin, rented a mountain bike, and spent the day riding around the island. With only 100 residents, it's apparently much like Singapore was before modern development. I also learned that when the Chinese stir-fry fresh fish, they remove neither the bones nor the heads. Not to be culturally insensitive, but the heads stayed on my plate. I wouldn't know how to eat them with chop sticks anway.
Here are some pictures from the Island.
Bumboats on the jetty at Pulau Ubin.
The Chinese Temple on Ubin.
An old quarry - no swimming allowed.
